Hello! I appreciate the opportunity to share what the Lord Jesus has done for my family and me. My name is Barry Cheek I have been blessed with a beautiful wife and two wonderful children .I was raised in church most of my life, (But to be honest I didn’t pay much attention). In 1987 I was married, living with my father and not having much direction in my life. My grandmother asked me to go with her to church. I could never tell my grand mother no, so Dee Dee (my wife) and myself went to church with my grandmother. Sunday morning wasn’t too bad so we went back Sunday night. After the service as I was getting in my car the Holy Ghost was dealing with me about my soul. I asked the pastor Bro. Jack Cook if I could talk with him. After going down the Romans road. I realized that I was headed for Hell without Jesus. I ask Jesus to save my soul that night, and although There was no lightning or thunder no earthquake or chills, I knew that something was different. It didn’t take me long before I was back in the world doing the same old things I did before. But it wasn’t the same. A little while later The Lord put it on my heart to get faithful if Church. I was such a baby Christian that I didn’t know the difference between the Old Testament and The New Testament. I wasn’t sure if I was saved or not so after a trip to the alter I asked the lord if I was saved or not. And praise be to His name He assured me that I was saved from that Sunday night at Old Fashion Gospel Church. He assured me that salvation is not a feeling, But a Promise. Through the years The Lord has allowed me to meet and sit under some good sound doctrine Baptist preachers. I have always been a quite person who could never speak or sing in front of anyone. But God had other plains. In the spring of 2001 At (Amazing Grace Baptist Church, Pastor Mike Pittman). God called me to preach. I didn’t surrender to it until the middle of the summer. I thought Lord you don’t want me. I can imagine how Moses felt being slow to speech. Finally in June I surrendered The call and my life has never been the same. God don’t call the qualified He qualifies the called. The Lord has opened so many doors for me. He has allowed me to go in the jails and minister to the inmates in Mecklenburg Co., and also to the fire station with a good friend A my Pastor Chris Haywood, of Tabernacle Baptist Church in Denver NC. I also have a chance to preach to the inmates at Lincoln Co. Prison. I thank the Lord for all He’s done for me. I believe in One payment for sin and that’s the Precious Blood of Jesus. I also Believe in One Bible the AV1611 King James Bible. And that all others are counterfeit.
